La Maison De FaY presents Carole Soulas
- Carole Soulas is a french painter. After 10 years practicing painting in an associative studio, she studied interior & graphic designs at Montpellier university.
She exhibited in several venues with other artists and by herself and moved to London in 2008.
Among her sources of inspiration are graphic novels of all kind and early 20th century art movements, such as Impressionism & Les fauves.
What strike first in the paintings are the vibrating colors that don't follow the rules of natural hues but only work together following the harmony of lines.
It's sometimes close to the art group called Les Fauves that's characterized by brilliant and clashing colors. If a skin tone needs to be green to fit with the general composition, so be it!
The main theme is portraits of close friends and family, where the look holds the whole painting.
The cartoons focus on her environment, studying people's relationships or even spying on them when they're not looking!
It gives an insight of what it's like to be a foreigner in one of the most multicultural cities of our times. - For further informations for the prices and the artist please contact us to lamaisondefay@gmail.com
La Maison De FaY Present Willie Nash & Migle Backovaite
Willie Nash has enjoyed a life-long passion for photography. Since his early teens he has been experimenting with photography on a wide variety of projects, both personal and commercial. His photographs, often richly-colored, present the subject insuch a way that it is lifted from the "everyday" and onto another plane. Through the use of created enviroments, related objects, and lighting, he forges the "unwritten story" that takes place in each of his photographs.
Each day he is with many artistic and technical challenges in creating the "photographic voice" of his subject, and this is what he enjoys most. His motivation derives from his love of the photographic medium as a whole, and his unique style and creative focus can be found in the details of his work. Born and raised in New York City,Willie holds a BFA in photography from Pratt Intitute and an MFA from the school of visual arts.Migle Backovaite I like creative and revealing the "self" that is not yet known, the "self" that is full of mysticism and intrigue. I m more interested in the darker side of the human nature as it generates more energy and let us wander in the deep tunnels of our sub-consiousness. Through photography i get to know my self. I love theatre and performance and therefore involve body painting and make-up. I tend to photograph people who are character full and "irregular"in respect to the society, sexuality , and general understanding of "beauty". I take photos of what appeals to my sensuality without thinking weather it would appeal to the audience. Anything can trigger my fantasy as well other emotional reactions to the world. In art i praise Aestheticism and the cult of the beauty as the main elements. Photography to me is the means of showing the beauty that surrounds us- be it a withering leave on the pavement or human body in it's full or non-full blossom. Visual impact and aesthetic momentary appeal are more important to me than the story behind it.

La Maison De FaY Proudly Presents Aggression 13th-14th October
La Maison De Fay is proud to present ‘AGGRESSION’ at St Paul’s Church, Covent Garden, a showcase of photography, sculpture, conceptual, video and performance works by international artist questioning the causes, nature, expression and results of aggression.Sparked by the recent London riots and following the general wave of public uprising known as ''The Arab Spring", we invite you to experience a selection of artists interpreting the theme AGGRESSION through actions and objects. Being inherent to human evolution and drive, aggression is a part of humanity that is culturally and socially discouraged, yet influences so much of the cultural and social systems which defines contemporary life in any age. Through the act or the fear of aggression, groups and individuals move in directions against other groups and individuals. The most celebrated and epoch defining actions of humanity are closely associated with great acts of aggression, yet aggression is culturally and socially seen as the worst expression of what it means to be human. This artistic action attempts to unravel some of the current feelings, thoughts and expressions of AGGRESSION.The show will involve contributions from artists and curators from the UK, South Africa, Germany, France, Japan, Israel, UK, Brazil, USA, Korea, Mexico, Argentina, Lithuania, Poland, Italy, Greece and Russia. Works will include painting, photographic, sculpture, visuals, video, installation and performance art.

La Maison De FaY Exhibit at Victoria Pub 3 November-3 December
Art exhibition Painting & Photography / various artists
La Maison De FaY presents Blitzkrieg Bop at The Dalston Vic
The days might be getting shorter and the darkness falls earlier each and every day but this doesn't mean that our mood has to be deprived of shine and sparkle, too... Take on the winter blues with an expedition into colour and light, with our two upcoming exhibitions in Dalston this month!
Those of you who are already familiar with La Maison De FaY know that our trademark is organising Pop Up shows in the capital during which we usually temporarily take over spaces that are not usually intended to show art, and which we then transform for our purposes to leave the visitor with a lasting experience and inspiration.
Now we are starting a new chapter in the history of the gallery.
From November 2011 on we will be curating restaurants, cafés and bars in (East) London, the first group show "Blitzkrieg Bop" marking a creative expedition onto a series of exhibitions, starting at the Dalston Vic on Queensbridge Road, with art works being on display at the venue for a whole month at a time.
These longer lasting, yet, still temporary shows are inviting you to engage with the work of old and new artists of the gallery's roster.
Blitzkrieg Bop November features the work three very diverse artists, two of them new members of La Maison De FaY.
Paintings created with Aerosol, Acrylic and stencils by experienced German painter and autodidact Lars Ohlmann depict socio-political contexts amalgamating the signs of the time with their unique mixture of iconic depictions and turned-around meanings. His multi-layered compositions and memorable street art style usher his awareness of what it means to be part of an artistic and intellectual movement that has inherited the legacy of a Post-War and Post-Wall Germany - and Europe - of the 21st century. Lars' body of work includes more than 800 pieces, most of them never shown in public, so stay tuned for more!
One of the latest additions to the gallery's talent roster, photographer and collage artist Matteo Tessarolo invites you to delve into a sort of futuristic nostalgia. His love of capturing small frames of reality as an expression of individual emotional moments created by nature is expressed by a variety of mediums: by using Black&White or Colour photography, Vintage magazine and newspaper snippets he creates striking visual compositions and colour palettes through which he kindles the interest of viewers of all ages and backgrounds.
After popular demand we will also be displaying photographic works by artiste extraordinaire Migle Backovaite, one of our valued artists of the first hour who has been with our gallery since the very beginning. Migle likes to create an image of the self that is not yet known, the self that is full of mysticism and intrigue. Taking inspiration from Poussin's painting of the 'Last Supper' scene has seen her create a series of powerful modern day interpretations of the image which has wowed visitors since the first time it has been on public display.
Also exhibited is one of her recent ventures into portraiture which she has successfully shown at the Aggression group exhibition at St. Paul's church last month.
The aim of La Maiso De FaY is to create an accessible, welcoming environment for visitors free from the intimidation and snobbery of more traditional galleries and to break down the barriers between artist and the public. Spontaneity and versatility allow us to create Temporary Autonomous Zones, art exhibitions that are an experience for both makers and visitors, to interact, discuss, reflect and create.
We believe that artistic talent doesn't require the proof of university degrees or expensive marketing campaigns, but rather that great work speaks for it self. Find out for yourself!

TING-AN LIN
Phantom limbs brought on by a disabled consciousness.
Two entities struggle to reach an equilibrium of balance and harmony within an imaginary world of things that no longer exist.
Grotesque distortions battle for supremacy, striving to create some semblance of normality. This being encased in a shroud of gold, representing an illogical and surreal other worldly dimension.
Negative light you can observe without being visible, although there maybe some indication of light and shadow present.
Human eyes need light to capture an image. Too much or not enough light can cause a misunderstanding or distortion of what we perceive we are seeing.
